For a long time, Manchester United has been the center of all criticism and concerns as the reds were not able to perform well at all.

On one hand, it was the entire team’s performance that had been dragging down the entire club’s reputation. On the other hand, the club has been going through a very bad situation due to the ongoing dilemma due to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Both issues are interconnected because, at the end of the day, the performance of the entire club was getting dragged down by these issues. 

Due to these matters, the entire club as well as Erik Ten Hag had been under great pressure. It was expected that the impact of the pressure would be felt by the club in the running season.

Manchester United’s Premier League 2022-23 Performance

It is quite obvious that the club has not been taking the pressure well coming in from these factors. This is the reason why the club was not able to perform at all in the first two matches of the current Premier League.

The first match Manchester United had in the Premier League was against Brighton. The result of the match between Manchester United and Brighton was 1-2. 

The second match Manchester United had was against Brentford, which was extremely devastating for the club. 

It ended up stirring up quite the concern among the fans that Cristiano Ronaldo would not be returning after the match. Ronaldo was substituted just as the second half began against Brentford. 

The club ended up losing to Brentford by 0-4 and no one among the reds was able to do anything against them. 

Recent Match against Liverpool 

Following the defeat against Brentford, the football experts and analysts were siding with Liverpool as Manchester United’s next match was scheduled with Liverpool. 

The football experts doubted that the team will not be able to perform against Liverpool at all. This is because Liverpool had been in quite the form and was ready to take on any strong opponent. 

However, Manchester United took everyone by surprise when they scored the first goal against Liverpool.

If that wasn’t enough, the club scored another goal against Liverpool, strongly breaking through their strong defenses. 

Liverpool was able to get back at the reds but they were only able to score a single goal against them.

Goal Scorers

In the match between Manchester United and Liverpool, the goal scorers from MANU were Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford. From Liverpool, the only goal scorer was Mohamed Salah.

The first goal was scored by Jadon Sancho in the 16th minute while Marcus Rashford scored in the 53rd minute. Whereas, Mohamed Salah scored in the 81st minute. 

The recent victory by Manchester United has put it back on the competition list. The team is now back in the game and defeating one of the strongest teams (Liverpool) in the current league would send a strong message to other major clubs.
