How to prepare you for a cycling race?

Cycle race is not a challenging sport, its depend upon your be physical and mental health. And you should understand the dynamics of the road, how to ride to your strengths, and measure your efforts. It is not always the strongest rider wins it’s the rider who can combine power with the race craft and timing to get the very best out of them. If you have been racing for a long time, you will begin to understand the cycle racing tricks. Here are few tips to follow during the cycle racing.

Make sure your cycle fits you:

 No matter what type of cycle you have, riding a cycle that fits you well is essential one to comfort you. If you have neck, back, or knee pain,  problem during cycling your cycle does not fit you properly. So it is recommended to change the cycle that fits you well without causing any discomfort. If you have a cycle which fit you properly will improve your pedaling, aerodynamics and makes you faster. And make sure your helmet fits correctly, and everything on your cycle is working in good condition before you start your ride. If you are preparing you for a professional cyclist, it is better to buy a separate stunt cycle. The stunt cycles do not cost more, so it affordable.

Conserve your energy:

Cycle races often come down to little explosive efforts like Closing the gap, taking a break, holding the wheel up, responding to the attack and nailing the bunch spirit. Don’t lose your energy on the things that don’t matter to you. Save your energy for the last race, majority of the time, the winning move will come during the last period. If you see everyone rushing at the starting race, that’s fine. Let them go. So you save your energy till the final race. Make sure that you select the light-weighted cycle. If you have the fat bicycle, you need to spend more energy so avoid it.

Pack your gear:

The night before the race, pack everything you need. Have a good idea of the expected weather so you can pack accordingly. Have a checklist of your shorts, shoes, helmet, and  gloves , and also  take items such as a jacket, cap, and shoes if the weather is expected to be unfavorable. Some race also requires you to have race license so don’t forget to pack that too.

Bottles and food:

The night before a race, don’t eat new food eat the same kind of carbohydrate-rich meal you would have during training. Ensure that you have filled all your water bottles, and take your energy bars on the amount you need to depend on the length of the race. If you are racing for an hour, take a water bottle and a little energy bar. If you are doing it for more extended events, you need to eat and drink around 500 calories per hour.
